What to wear -

What should we wear?

Solid clothing is recommended. Please try to avoid logos or
patterns. Light colors look more casual and contemporary
while dark colors tend to be more dramatic.

How should we prepare for the session?

Clean faces and hands make for better photographs (we
know that this is not always an easy job!). So please have
wipes and tissues on hand for the little ones when
necessary. Let your photographer know in advance if you
have particular shots you might want to have taken.
Keeping an open mind is necessary to have fun and it’s
important that you and your family feel comfortable. Make
sure that your hair, make-up and clothes are how you want
it prior to your arrival.

What is the best clothing for photographs?

Something you and your family are comfortable in. For the
maternity shoots we will bring some luxury fabrics to use
as props if you are going to do some semi nude pictures.
Modesty is maintained at all times. Textures and colors can
always work well and jeans and casual wear are often
popular. Try to avoid large logos and complex patterned
clothing as they can be distracting on the final portrait.
Babies and smaller children always look beautiful in their
most natural state. Little toes are best left bare!

My suggestions:

Keep it simple! Avoid busy patterns and clothing with
writing or logos. We want the main focus to be on you and
your children. I ask that you bring a few simple outfits that
we can choose from. I also encourage that you allow your
child to pick out an outfit as well. Who cares if it doesn’t
look perfect or even match! Let you child parade around
like a prince/princess… just for fun! When you view the
portraits those just might be your favorite ones.
